Bleeding Green

Vincent O'Donoghue, COO, Social Talent

  • What separates a good company from a great company? The answer is its people
  • We all know that the war for talent is fierce, but just because candidates are in high demand, it doesn't mean that organisations should ever have to settle for second best
  • Vincent will discuss how Choice, Passion and Culture are the three key pillars for determining who the right candidates are for your organisation
  • Vince will also cover how to integrate them into your Talent Acquisition strategy.

Vincent began his career as an Assistant Director on some low-budget horror movies including such "classics" as Knocking on Death's Door and A Very Unlucky Leprechaun. He then decided to get a real job and moved into Sales and Account Management positions within the ICT industry with British Telecom in Ireland, and Digicel in the Caribbean. On returning to Ireland he established a recruitment agency and ultimately Social Talent with Johnny Campbell. Since then the company have turned nearly 15,000 recruiters from companies like Microsoft, Intel, GE, Manpower, Randstad and Adecco into Sourcing Ninjas. The company's platform is used in over 90 countries by more than 1,000 companies and their blog is read by nearly 100,000 recruiters a week.

Surviving and Thriving in Times of Change

Julia Kermode, Chief Executive, Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA)
  • The role of the recruitment industry is essential to the UK economy:
  • Never before have we seen so many external changes affecting our sector; just surviving is not enough;
  • We need to seize the opportunity, and adapt to ensure our businesses stay relevant.

Julia joined FCSA in 2014 and has successfully driven unprecedented growth during a period of significant change.  Prior to FCSA, Julia was chief executive at a variety of non-profit organisations where she relished campaigning and creating strategies that challenge assumptions.  When not developing new ideas, Julia spends much of her time ensconced in the world of politics and current affairs, keeping track of developments and championing the important role of the whole recruitment industry.
